Time To Leave Church?

, ,

I have been attending the same church for nearly 30 years and with the loss if my beloved wife I think I owe it to myself to take a hard look at my life. That includes which church I attend and if me being there is where God wants me to be at this time? It is a question that my late wife and a I talked about often. As of this moment my heart is telling me it’s time to move on because the church just is not meeting my spiritual or supportive needs.

However, everything is still clouded by my mourning of my wife which was less than 4 months ago. Scripture tells us to wait on the Lord I just wish he would hurry up and tell me what his plans are for my life.

I’m so sorry for your loss. The whole “I wish God would hurry up and tell me what do” thing is very familiar. Unfortunately it seems he rarely does tell me what he wants me to do and lets me figure it out. When I finally start planning and doing things and I feel like I have a direction, that’s is when he’s usually like “nope, let’s turn it all upside down and start again.” As C.S. Lewis said, “He’s not a tame Lion.” But take heart, the fact that your soul is that submitted to him and you just can’t to obey, whatever that looks like… that is the right attitude and it shows how mature you have become in following him. peace and blessings to you as you seek his direction and I hope he gives it to you.
