In a culture in which so many families are divided by vast distances of miles, one thing that never goes away is the love of Jesus. For many, looking back on their hometown can bring mixed emotions, but more than likely, that is where their faith journey started. It’s kind of like when many of us were growing up, we were determined not to be like our parents. Then one day, we realize that in some ways, we are just like them. The thing is, Jesus has never changed and never will, but what does change is our life experiences and our perceptions of him and how he influences our lives. So look fondly on your hometown and try not to focus on the bad things, but just remember that more than likely that is where your faith journey started, and isn’t that the whole purpose of life anyway?
