Earlier today something told me I needed to go to a certain Christian bookstore. I wasn’t sure as to why but I went anyway. While I was looking at some books I saw a gentleman fall. There was another gentleman trying to help him up but was struggling to do so with any good fortune. So I walked out to help and we were able to get the gentleman back on his feet. I thought ” now I know why I was sent here”. I went back into the store to start looking again when the gentleman that was helping approached me about a book I was going to purchase. We started talking and I mentioned the loss of my wife. He said his mother had died a few weeks back and his father was really struggling. I shared some insight on what it’s like to lose a spouse. His mother-in-law and wife walked up and we started talking about my current situation. The more we talked the more it became clear that I knew what I had to do and that is to be truer to my faith walk. Then comes the question of how do I go about that? At this point I simply don’t know what to do but I have to get past what others might think and do what God has put on my heart!

I have been attending the same church for nearly 30 years and with the loss if my beloved wife I think I owe it to myself to take a hard look at my life. That includes which church I attend and if me being there is where God wants me to be at this time? It is a question that my late wife and a I talked about often. As of this moment my heart is telling me it’s time to move on because the church just is not meeting my spiritual or supportive needs.
However, everything is still clouded by my mourning of my wife which was less than 4 months ago. Scripture tells us to wait on the Lord I just wish he would hurry up and tell me what his plans are for my life.

So often in today’s culture a woman’s beauty is classified by how she looks physically. News flash for all of you. A woman’s outside appearance has nothing to do with how beautiful she truly is on the inside. Lets be honest physical appearance can take people only so far in life. The reality is you learn in a relationship that what is beautiful in a woman are those qualities that make her special every single second of every single day.

There are times in our lives as believers when we feel that God has put something in our hearts, but we fail to act on those feelings.
This begs the question: Why do we fail to act? Of course, the easy answer is to blame Satan, but I suspect that there may be more to it than just that. I think there are societal pressures that people fall prey to, especially when it comes to the opposite sex, when they are married. Sometimes, it could be that there may be a large age difference, and the younger person may feel they could not do anything to help. In most cases, I suspect they would be wrong in that assumption.
As I said to someone some time back ( who is married) that if something is put on her heart in regards to me, then follow your heart. She has, and I cannot express how grateful I am for how she has helped me get through the most difficult time of my life so far.
So has God put something on your heart? Then act on it and God will be happy and Satan will be mad. That is exactly the way it is supposed to be anyway.
Besides, always remember that when your time comes to meet The Lord God Almighty, all of those folks who have shared all of their “wisdom ” about how you should do something will be no where to be found.
