Blurred Vision In Life

We all have those times when everything becomes a total blur. You face crisis after crisis, and your faith gets beat up because you become so physically and mentally exhausted that you say and do things that you would normally never do. That does not excuse one’s behavior, but it can serve as some sort of explanation, especially for believers. Of course this in when Satan attacks like never before.

So how do we all get through these tough times? The first thing I think one needs to do is allow yourself to be human and all the frailties that comes with that.

My favorite verse in the bible is found in Psalms Chapter 30 verse 5.

For his anger lasts only a moment,
    but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning

In the end that is the only true thing we have to hold on to when the crisis hit.

It’s Time To Go Home

With tears flowing down my face I uttered “It’s time to go home”. This day had been coming for nearly a decade and the words just came out. When the cancer specialist said that her cancer was 95% he had lived up to his promise. There were no other signs of a problem except that she simply did not eat enough to survive. So it was time to come to her physical home knowing that the next time she is called home it will be with The Lord God Almighty. All I can do as her husband is provide the food that he has given us and then it’s up to God if she will eat or not? Alive Hospice came by the house yesterday and that was a good thing.

We know that more than likely this will be our last Christmas together and she sleeps I can’t help but wonder if the next time I check on her she will be The Lord God Almighty.

Cancer Treatment And You

Yesterday as I watched the medical staff give my wife her newest cancer medical treatment. It was frankly difficult to watch. Yet it was necessary to have done.

Isn’t that true about your spiritual walk? Doesn’t God sometimes give you treatments that you would rather live without? I know he does to me regularly.

Grieving the Loss of A Loved One

As Halloween is fast approaching for many it’s a time for fun but for me, it hasn’t been since 2008. That was the day that I lost my dad. That moment of loss and watching him fade away something became and that is there are forces in the universe that no matter how big and strong I am I can’t stop. That of course is the power of The Lord God Almighty. The reality is that you never truly get over the loss of a loved one. You just learn over time it does become somewhat easier to handle.

There has been this debate for eternity over which is better to lose someone. Some believe that it’s easier if your loved one goes quickly. While there are those it’s better if it is something drawn out so you have time to say your goodbyes. Having gone through one and for the last several years while going through the other I can safely say that I don’t have a clue.

I do know that all people grieve differently and for others to judge others when they are grieving is simply wrong.
